Strong closing of Belgian team

Flanders Grand Prix

Quiet remarkable last days on the road for the Belgian inline athletes in San Benedetto del Tronto. Two Belgian cadettes qualified for the final of the 1000m inline. The Austrian girl Bittner took the gold, Sandrine Tas and Vicky Jacobs ended up close. A very well deserved silver and bronze for the Belgian youngsters as a reward.

In the relay races an almost 'never seen, never done before' achievement for Mathias Vosté and Siemen Tas. The two Belgian juniors competed together against teams with 3 athletes. Nevertheless this duo won the bronze medal behind France and homecountry Italy. Wonderfull !

In the senior men relay Ferre Spruyt, Maarten and Bart Swings have beaten France and Italy in the sprint. Fotofinish (picture Cadomotus) was needed to determine the gold. The fifth golden for Bart at this tournament.

The cadettes girls had with their final of the 1000m a good warming-up for this relay. Sandrine Tas, Vicky Jacobs and Ellen Van de Catseye beated Austria and Germany for the European jersey.

With only the marathons left, Belgium is classifed third in the medal tally. With 8 golds and one less than the French still everything possible in this classification as well.
